Intertek Acquires Union Lab Group in Singapore |

June 6, 2007 (Houston, London, Singapore) Intertek Group Plc (Intertek), a leading international provider of quality and safety services to a wide range of industries, announced that its Oil Chemical & Agri division (Caleb Brett) has acquired the Union Lab group of companies in Singapore. Union Lab, the leading local petroleum inspection company in Singapore, specializes in fuel oil testing and inspection, shipboard blending, bunker quality control programs, and consultancy in terminal design (land and floating storage) and operations. The acquisition of Union Lab reinforces and complements Intertek’s leading market position providing petroleum products testing and inspection services to the important Singapore market and the region. Union Lab will be fully integrated into Intertek’s global network of laboratories and facilities. John Chan, incumbent Country Manager for Singapore, assumes the role of Co-Chief Executive (Operations) for Intertek OCA (Caleb Brett) Singapore. “We welcome the enhanced capabilities and expertise of Union Lab, particularly in the areas of terminalling and quality control programs.” Keith Pereira, founder and managing director of Union Lab, assumes the role of Co-Chief Executive (Commercial). “Integration with Intertek provides access to resources to proliferate our existing programs and further value-add to our customers’ businesses locally, and in the region”.
