The REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals - No. 1907/2006) places compliance requirements on chemical producers importing into or manufacturing in Europe. The obligations for chemical producers include, but are not limited to: pre-registration of chemicals and producers, chemical testing and evaluation, registration of chemicals, management of supply chain, and management of downstream users.
“There is a general obligation for manufacturers and importers of substances to submit a registration to the Agency for each substance manufactured or imported in quantities of 1 tonne or above per year. Failure to register means that the substance is not allowed to be manufactured or imported.”
