Both sampling and analysis by Intertek are performed in accordance to ISO 17025. Over 90 activities in the field of sampling and analysis of (waste)water are accredited.
Sampling
Representative sampling is essential in order to guaranty accurate analysis results. Besides normal random sampling, samples of waste water can also be taken with time proportional and/or volume proportional sampling equipment.
Sampling and onsite measurements in accordance to:
- Random sampling, NEN 6600-1
- Composing mixtures of samples, own method SPV B001
- Random sampling surface water, NEN 6600-2
- Time proportional sampling, NEN 6600-1
- Acidity (pH), NPR 6616
- Specific conductivity, own method
- Amount of oxygen, NEN-ISO 5814
Analysis
Intertek has advanced methods and equipments for the analysis of organic and inorganic parameters at its disposal. Wastewater samples can be analysed for:
Organic micro parameters e.g.: pesticides, phenylureum herbicides, glyphosphate/AMPA, mineral oil, OCBs, PCBs, PAKs. Volatile organic components. Available techniques:
- Headspace GC-MS
- Purge and trap GC-MS
- GC-ECD
- GC-FID
- LC-UV and fluorescence
- LC-MS-MS
- Inorganic micro parameters (heavy metals). Available techniques:
- AAS
- ICP-AES
- ICP-MS
- Inorganic macro parameters e.g.
- Chemical oxygen demand (COD)
- Biological oxygen demand (BOD)
- Kjeldahl nitrogen
- Nutrients (Ammonium, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ortho-phosphate, Sulphate)
- Total nitrogen, Total phosphate
- Unsolved components
