Acetaldehyde in PET bottles

Migration testing of AA (acetaldehyde) and other components in PET

Intertek provides migration tests and analysis of acetaldehyde and formaldehyde in poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)-bottles and other virgin - or chemically / physically recycled PET materials. FA and AA can be measured in PET after extraction and identified by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Intertek also provides migration testing of these components from PET bottles in water and other food simulants.

Max. level of AA is set at <10 mg/L by the mineral water Industry.
