Intertek tests plastic and polymer materials for optical characteristics and surface properties.. Optical properties like gloss, colour and transparency are important for plastics used in packaging, food packaging, automotive, commercial electric and consumer goods. Optical testing detects changes in surfaces, caused by processing, after-treatment, weathering, light and temperature-induced ageing. Client materials tested include plastic articles, plastic plates, plastic sheets, cast film, powders and granulates.
