The dimensional stability of injection molded articles is very critical. The so called mold shrinkage is something you would like to know. Intertek has the capability to support your material development in this area. Intertek specialists have a broad range of injection moulding machines and a number of molds at their disposal.

For vert accurate determination of dimensional properties and Mold Shrinkage, we operate a 3-D measuring device (3-D CNC measuring machine).

The accuracy (Size-dependent) is about 4 µm. The method is based on ISO 294-4. Typical dimension of an injection molded plaque to determine the mold shrinkage, would be 65x65x3.2 mm or 80x80x2.2 mm.
