Linear thermal expansion coefficient determination

Determination of CLTE of your materials

If you are interested in how the dimensions of your newly developed materials are influenced by temperature fluctuations, you will need to know the linear thermal expansion coefficient (CLTE (α)) of your material.

Intertek can measure the linear thermal expansion coefficient and many other physical and mechanical properties of your materials.

CLTE (α) is calculated as:
α = ΔL / (Lo * ΔT)
ΔL change in length of sample,
Lo original length of sample,
ΔT temperature change during test
