Intertek has years of experience in the processing and characterization of polymers/ plastics; we have state-of-the-art machinery with a large variety of techniques among which cast- and blown film extruders and multiple injection molding equipment with various moulds to process a large variety of test specimens.
Recently we have expanded our processing activities with a state-of-the-art application to process lacquer plates, in small or large batches against the latest standards demanded by eg. the automotive industry. These plates can be used for research activities (in eg. automotive, household and other industries) for paints and coatings in relation to plastics.

   
Application
Contamination is a very critical aspect in processing these test plates; Intertek Polychemlab has an application covering an integrated combination of injection molding equipment, a robot system and a computer controlled cut facility.

    
The Arburg 720S 3200-1300 has a mould with 2 cavities able to mould lacquer plates with a dimension of 120 x 120 x 3,2 mm.

     
The injection molding equipment can also be used for screw and mould research. It is possible to use the mould or screw of customers in our equipment and we do have an increasing numbers of moulds available within Intertek.
