AXLE AND FUEL EFFICIENCY STUDIES

Intertek PARC provides the follow services:

• Axle efficiency measurements with lubricants or axles as variables.

• Test cells configured in the “T” orientation with electric motor drive units and 2000Hp absorbers.
• State of the art testing with extremely accurate digital electronic torque meters.
• Digital torque meters with input torques from 480 lbf.in to 6000 lbf.in. Resolution of 0.3 lbf.in pinion and 0.4 lbf.in axle. Repeatability 0f 5.0 lbf.in.
• Axle sizes ranging from light automotive to class 8 truck
• Temperature control with heat and cooling including constant temperature from 100°F to 160°F using circulating systems. Temperature rise to slope with cool down cycles with blowers or ambient heat rise.
• Drive motor speeds from 100 rpm to 4000 rpm. Motor horsepower is available at 250 hp and 400 hp.
• Efficiency tests run from 2 hp to 220 hp input
• Spin Loss testing on a separate rig using 500 lbf.in digital torque meter with resolution to 0.03 lbf.in and 1.0 lbf.in repeatability.  Speeds from 100 rpm to 4000 rpm.
