The NWTC UK laboratory provides analytical techniques for visualising and measuring microscopic features. Nanoscale techniques include SEM/EDXA, TEM (cryo & freeze-fracture), AFM, Interference microscopy, Light microscopy.
Optical light Microscopy:
Available imaging modes include transmission, reflection, polarisation and DIC. These instruments are valuable in studies of phase structure, morphology and particle size and structure.
Transmission Electron Microscopy:
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) allows for ultrastructural characterisation of a wide range of samples.
