Physical Property Measurement
Intertek ASG is able to provide a wide range of physical property measurements on aqueous solutions, fluids, liquids and solids. Applications include pharmaceutical R&D, registration of new chemicals (REACH, NONS legislation) and product development and technical support for many industry sectors. Experiments are carried out to the appropriate regulatory standards of GLP and GMP.
Typical examples of physical property measurements available to GLP and GMP standards include:
Measurements on aqueous solutions
- pH, pKa and multiple pKa
- logP
- logD
- Aqueous solubility
- Conductivity
- Redox potential
- Corrosion studies
- Partition coefficient e.g. octanol:water by shake flask or HPLC
Measurements on fluids and liquids
- Viscosity, inherent and intrinsic viscosity
- Freezing point and boiling point
- Vapour pressure
- Surface tension
- Density and specific gravity
- Refractive index and optical rotation
Measurements on crystalline and amorphous solids
