Monomer, Oligomer and Polymer Analytical Services
Intertek ASG laboratory offers a wide range of characterization
capabilities which allow detailed characterization
of monomers, oligomers and polymer materials, products and processes.
ASG supports process
optimization, scale up and regulatory submissions for notification of new substances (NONS) and the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals and polymeric pharmaceutical ingredients.
Polymers studied in the laboratory include a large range of performance polymers such as acrylics, polyesters, polyethers, polyurethanes and naturally derived polymers such as cellulosics, carbohydrates and polysaccharides, and biological polymers. Oligomers studied include a range of functional prepolymers, telechelic oligomers and branched oligomers of various architectures. A wide range of standard and speciality monomers are analysed in the laboratory, including functional monomers with hydroxyl, isocyanate, carboxylic acid, epoxy functionality.
Applications studied have included development of reactive oligomers for UV curing formulations, new surface coating and ink formulations, residual monomers in food related applications and reactive oligomers for modification of pharmaceutical small molecule API’s and for grafting on to biological molecules such as proteins for synthetic post translational modification.
