LC-MS/MS Analysis

Intertek ASG operates a 4000 Q TRAP® LC-MS/MS instrument in the laboratory. The LC-MS/MS system is a high-performance hybrid triple quadrupole/linear ion trap mass spectrometer for drug discovery, drug development, and proteomics.

  • Enables ASG to provide high-sensitivity full-scan MS, MS/MS, and MS3 with high-selectivity from true triple quadrupole precursor ion (PI) and neutral loss (NL) scans.
  • Perform multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) for quantitation using the highest sensitivity triple quadrupole available.
  • Identify, characterize, and quantitate metabolites faster and easier.
  • Provides ASG the ability to identify and sequence post-translationally modified (PTM) peptides automatically in a single LC/MS/MS run.

Innovation in Linear Ion Trap Technology

Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX Linear Ion Trap (LIT) technology enables ASG to provide unmatched quantitative and qualitative performance within a single system. Use of a quadrupole as a linear ion trap significantly enhances ion trap performance by increasing ion capacity, improving injection and trapping efficiencies, and increasing duty cycle. With the unequalled sensitivity of the API 4000™ system, the 4000 Q TRAP® system brings LIT technology together with the leading triple quadrupole for drug development.

More Metabolites in Less Time

The 4000 Q TRAP® system's high quantitative sensitivity and highly specific scan functions enable you to rapidly, identify and characterize even low-abundance metabolites in a single run. The system can trigger MS/MS and MS3 from MRM transitions, confirming the presence and structure of metabolites at the same time. What used to take multiple analyses on multiple MS platforms, now only takes a single LC/MS/MS run on a single system at the ASG laboratory.

Low Limits of Detection for DMPK Studies

ASG provides the high sensitivity of the API 4000™ system, ensuring low detection limits. Efficient ionization and superior ion sampling of the interface result in excellent sensitivity provides fast and secure access to the information needed for pharmacokinetics and metabolism DMPK studies.

Automated PTM Discovery in a Single Run

Identification of post-translational modifications is provided by ASG laboratory. Software identifies the proteins present in complex protein samples such as cell lysates or ion exchange fractions of proteins either extracted from gels or digested in solution. Identification is performed with a search algorithm capable of performing extremely fast database searches. In addition, amino acid substitutions and post-translational modifications can be identified automatically in a first pass search.
