The US Defense Energy Support Center has awarded a US Coast Guard fuel quality sampling and testing program to Intertek Caleb Brett. The Signal Hill, California (Los Angeles) laboratory will provide the required fuel analysis services on a global basis.

All DESC bunker fuel and open market propulsion fuel samples will be shipped to the Intertek Caleb Brett lab for analysis. The new fuel testing program promises to improve fuel quality and fuel stability data reliability and accuracy, improve sample shipping efficiency (especially from foreign ports), and decrease analysis report turn around times.

The Intertek Caleb Brett DESC fuel testing program will also analyze shipboard fuel quality issues for specific fuel storage tanks.
