Intertek (Caleb Brett) provides laboratory outsourcing services to a wide range of clients across the world. In Australia, two lab outsourcing projects include petroleum and chemical testing services. |
Laboratory outsourcing services for Shell Refining (Australia):
Intertek was awarded outsourcing of Shell’s Newport Laboratory in Melbourne which handles lubricant blending and distribution quality control testing, along with aviation gasoline and jet fuel recertifications. Laboratory assets were transferred and assimilated into a nearby Intertek laboratory. Implementation planning with Shell representatives produced a seamless transfer with no obstructions to business operations.
Following the success of the Newport laboratory, Shell proceed to outsource the operation of Clyde refinery laboratory in Sydney. This is the first project in the Shell global network where an independent contractor provides all analytical services to support a full scale refinery.
