Over Temperature Trip with Indicator

  • Over Temperature Trip Facility
  • Mains Power 13 amp Tripped Output Socket>
  • Analogue Output Proportional to Temperature

Description

This instrument has been developed as a general purpose over temperature monitor / trip. The equipment is particularly useful when used as an independent backup safety device for other temperature control systems. Temperature monitoring and trip functions are carried out using a proprietary West 6100 instrument configured to display both the measured temperature value and trip set point.

The operator has direct access to the instrument front panel controls, allowing the required trip temperature to be adjusted without entering a security code or negotiating a user menu.

Temperature measurement is achieved using a thermocouple located in the heated medium.

The instrument is fitted with a controlled 13 amp mains socket, (located on the instruments rear panel) which is under the control of the West 6100 via a power relay. When the measured temperature is below the trip set point as indicated on the instruments display, manual activation of the RESET push button will latch the internal power relay and apply power to the 13 amp socket.

If the measured temperature increases to a level above the trip set point, the internal power relay will deactivate and remove power from the 13 amp socket, cutting off the supply to any connected external equipment.
