Nigel Wilson

Separation Science (Gas Chromatography)

Nigel joined ICI in 1965. Initial work was involved with the deformulation of plastic compounds. In 1969 Nigel moved into the gas chromatographic area where he has spent the remainder of his time. Initial work was involved in developing multidimensional gas chromatographic methods for use in R&T and production facilities.

Other areas of interest were in the development of headspace and thermal desorption techniques for the analysis of monomers and volatiles in polymeric materials. In recent years interest has been focussed on fast gas chromatographic and GCxGC techniques.
