Dr. Bill Meredith

MSc (Env Eng) MRSC

Optical Microscopy, Image Analysis, Thermal Analysis and Particle Sizing

Bill obtained his PhD in chemistry at Manchester University in 1974. He joined ICI London Sales Office in 1973 spending 3 years as a Technical Representative selling ICI's new unsaturated polyester resin product to industry in London and the south east of England.

He joined ICI Corporate Lab in 1977 where he did ‘blue sky’ research followed by market development, plant improvement and then new product development work.

He became Technique Leader for the light microscopy & image analysis section in Wilton in 1995 and combined that with thermal analysis and particle sizing in 2005. In the last few years he has been involved in uses of clays in a range of materials, foams (aqueous and solid), high throughput experimentation and the measurement of colour.

Bill has a keen interest in understanding customer problems and then using a range of appropriate techniques to hopefully solve them.
