Linear Thermal Expansion (LTE) determines material expansion rates as a function of temperature. Linear Thermal Expansion is provided by Intertek for client design purposes and to help determine if failure by thermal stress may occur.

LTE analysis helps clients understanding expansion and contraction characteristics of two materials in contact, which may be critical for application success.

Intertek laboratories provide LTE analysis by Thermo-mechanical Analysis (TMA) and by Dilatometer . LTE test methods include ASTM E831, ASTM D696 and ISO 11359, depending upon location. Contact Intertek for more information.
