Meeting regulatory requirements - Intertek MSG |
| |
|
There are ever increasing demands placed on manufacturers, importers and retailers to demonstrate compliance with national and international regulations. Current regulations include; REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemical substances, ROHS (Restriction Of Hazardous Substances) and the WEEE directive (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment).
These regulations require that companies are able to demonstrate knowledge of the composition of anything that they manufacture, import or use in production. An important part of this process is the provision of data on the elemental composition of materials, with particular emphasis placed on the quantitation of heavy metals. We can provide semi-quantitative and quantitative data on all elements defined, or likely to be defined, as heavy metals. We can provide total metals and non metals contents or extractable metals following internationally accepted extraction procedures. The form or oxidation state of particular elements can also be determined Work can be carried out to GLP or UKAS standards.
Other techniques within Intertek MSG can be used to identify and quantify organic materials |
